Meditative and mindful movement is also an art – especially in a museum. Enjoy a special yoga class with a short introduction and against the backdrop of a selected work. The price includes the introduction, the yoga class, and admission to the museum. Please bring your own yoga mat. Mats can be borrowed if needed.

The art work of the hour

Kirchner's painting "Mountain Forest" (1918-20) inspires two yoga postures. Tadasana (the mountain pose) is a tool to improve posture. If the weight is not ideally distributed when standing, this leads to imbalances. Misalignments can be corrected with Tadasana. The yoga exercise Vrksasana (tree) is also about balance. The tree stands for gentle strength, flexible stability and deep grounding. In the yoga tree, the roots at the bottom, i.e. the feet, influence how flexible the treetop is at the top. The yoga class combines mountain and tree to create a grounding practice.
